Tummy and taste series: Energy balls using Pakistan Aseel Dates

Pakistan Aseel Dates and chocolate can never go wrong if you need that quick energy with a great deal of taste. They definitely look delish and taste even better. No matter who told you the recipe, it is definitely worth trying. Put some on the table if guests are coming over or add to a kid’s lunch box and they will definitely be asking you for more.

Here’s the recipe:

  • 1 cup pitted Pakistan Aseel Dates
  • 1 cup walnuts (crushed)
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips
  • ½ cup oats

Coatings:

Option 1: Cocoa powder

Option 2: Powdered milk

Method:

  1. Soak the Pakistan Aseel Dates in warm water for a few minutes to make it easier to remove the pits.
  2. Blend it together and make a thick paste that can easily be made into the shape of balls.
  3. Add Cocoa powder, oats and crushed walnuts to this paste and combine everything together.
  4. Roll them into balls.
  5. Coat with cocoa powder or powdered milk (whatever you like more)
  6. Sprinkle them with some crushed walnuts before serving.

You can store the date paste for about a week in an airtight jar.
